The most beneficial part of attending Oils University was gaining industry knowledge and expanding my network. As a newcomer or even a veteran, there are so many aspects of the industry to learn.

Drew Tilton — 2024 Attendee
Ring Container Technologies

The agenda is well-balanced and provides knowledge that, even if it does not pertain directly to your company or roles/responsibilities, allows you to become well-rounded and understand the complete supply chain. The instructors have incredible knowledge, experience, and passion to impart on the attendees that's makes the industry stronger as a whole.

The people you meet during the session, regardless of whether they are an instructor or an attendee, will share their insights and experience to add to the depth of knowledge gained.

Drew Tilton — 2024 Attendee
Ring Container Technologies

What I enjoyed most about Oils University was the people. I have been in the oil industry for just over three years and I continue to be pleasantly surprised at how wonderful people are. Their dedication creates an atmosphere that is fun and educational.

Drew Tilton — 2024 Attendee
Ring Container Technologies

The most beneficial part was the comprehensive overview of the oilseed industry provided by subject matter experts from the Northern Crops Institute. Sessions like Oil Properties and Chemistry, Introduction to Biofuels, and Farm to Plate offered both technical and commercial insights that were directly applicable to my role. The course helped bridge knowledge gaps in areas like feedstock supply chains, biofuels policy, and agronomics—particularly valuable as our exposure to this industry grows at Nufarm.

Michael Craig — 2024 Attendee
Nufarm

I’d strongly recommend this course to anyone in the oilseed value chain or adjacent roles. It provides a solid foundation in oilseed market dynamics, chemistry, risk management, and biofuel policy—regardless of experience level. It's especially valuable for those new to the industry or transitioning into agri-business roles.

Michael Craig — 2024 Attendee
Nufarm

I most enjoyed the variety and depth of topics covered, particularly the engaging discussions around biofuels, future demand trends, and supply chain complexities. The inclusion of hands-on scenarios, such as the RVO/RIN trading game and production cost simulations, made the learning process more interactive.

Michael Craig — 2024 Attendee
Nufarm

At Oils University, I had the opportunity to connect in person with a diverse group of attendees from soybean processors, risk management firms, organic oil companies, and more. Meeting these others was incredibly helpful in gaining broader perspectives across the oilseed industry.

Michael Craig — 2024 Attendee
Nufarm

I have been in the industry for over 20 years, and I learned so much. One of the most amazing things about our industry, is that we always have more to learn.

Sarah Perry — 2024 Attendee
Ag Processing Inc.

The course provided a lot of social opportunities to meet others and learn about what they do. I really liked the lunches and dinners as we were able to sit down and learn more about each other. I loved learning things about new folks and people I have known for decades.

Sarah Perry — 2024 Attendee
Ag Processing Inc.

For me, the most beneficial part of attending Oils University was the networking in a small setting. Regardless of any existing relationships going in, the small setting encouraged collaboration and discussion throughout the course.

Lisa Basile — 2024 Attendee
Catania Oils

Along with the networking, the ability to have some great conversations with the industry experts. These folks have all been in the industry for so long. Not only are they great resources on the subject matter, but they are also incredible mentors and can offer some great advice and words of wisdom, most likely without realizing they are even doing it.

Lisa Basile — 2024 Attendee
Catania Oils

I think any opportunity to connect with others in this industry should be taken advantage of. No matter how long you have been in this business, there is always something to learn or someone to meet.
