FDA-Regulated Food Facilities Must Renew Their FDA Registrations Soon

This is a reminder that FDA-regulated food facilities must renew their FDA registrations soon.

If you are the owner, operator, or agent in charge of either a domestic or foreign facility that manufactures, processes, packs, or holds food for human or animal consumption in the United States, you are required to register with the FDA, unless an exemption applies.

Food facilities are required to renew their registration every other year, during the period beginning on October 1 and ending on December 31 of each even-number year.  In other words, this year’s renewal period begins October 1, 2018 and ends December 31, 2018.

FDA has received a significant amount of registrant renewals, but the good news is the agency has added resources to assist with renewals.

Please feel free to reach out to NIOP’s General Counsel (John Dillard, if you have questions on the process or on the registration requirement in general.
